Southern Door travels to Oconto Wrestling on 104.1 WRLU; LC vs. Freedom Postponed

Another odd week for the Southern Door Eagles precedes its dual against the Oconto Blue Devils in Packerland Conference wrestling action. Last year, the Eagles won 78-6 without ever stepping on the mat due to forfeits. This week, Winter Storm Austin played a role in canceling two practices following what has been traditionally a lighter Monday practice.  The Eagles are coming off a good weekend at Sheboygan North where Grant Englebert led the team with a 5th place finish at 145 pounds. Making the podium for the Eagles were Austin Falish (6th), Kyle Conard (7th), Griffin Slezewski (8th), and Drew Price (6th).

Tim Kowols and Greg Letter will have the call beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the middle school matches from Oconto Middle School followed by the varsity pre-match show at 6:30 and the first whistle of the dual at 7 on 104.1 WRLU and streaming worldwide at DoorCountyDailyNews.com.

Other local wrestling matches in the area include Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol following the Eagles around the bay to battle Peshtigo and the Luxemburg-Casco match scheduled with Freedom in a battle of two of the top Division 2 teams in the state was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
