Gibraltar girls need to restart the flame

The Gibraltar girls basketball team is currently riding a nine game winning streak, but will look to defend it for the first time since January 18th when they take on the NEW Lutheran Blazers in Green Bay on Friday. With last week off due to finals and several games canceled already this week due to weather, the Vikings have not seen the court for some time. Head coach Josh Kropuenske is concerned about the lack of practice his team has had over the last week, but does still remain confident in its ability to shake off any rust that might remain from the long rest. He also reminisced on the last time the two teams met.

Gibraltar’s nine game winning streak began back on December 7th following a 76-48 victory over the same Blazers team the Vikings will meet on Friday. Kropuenske credits the 28-point victory for lighting a fire underneath the girls, who went into the contest at 1-4 on the season.
