Sturgeon Bay/Southern Door/Sevastopol finished sixth out of seven teams in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Championships. Brock Aune finished first in the 50 Free and the 100 Breast.

 

 

Boys Basketball

 

Gibraltar had no issue with St. Lawrence Seminary winning by a final of 93-49 in a non-conference battle on their home floor. The Vikings had a 26-point halftime lead and cruised from there. Andras Szakala and Trevor Reinhardt both finished with 19 points to lead the team. Gibraltar is now 7-6 overall on the season. The Vikings go to Kewaunee on Monday night.

 

Sturgeon Bay traveled to Lake Country Lutheran and couldn’t get a non-conference win. LCL got up big early on the Clippers and had a 23-point halftime lead. The final score was 70-51. Carson Talbert had 22 points for Sturgeon Bay but it was not enough as the Lightning were led by Joey Bratz who had 21 points. The Clippers are now 9-7 and will go to Oconto on Monday night.

 

Luxemburg-Casco was able to even up their conference record with a 61-54 victory over Clintonville at home. This game was originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday but was postponed due to the weather. Nathan Coisman scored 17 and Ryan Robillard pitched in with 15 for the Spartans. L-C now sits at 6-6 in the conference and 8-7 overall. They will travel to Green Bay East on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup.

 

 

Girls Basketball

 

Kewaunee continued their dominance this season winning a tough non-conference game at home against Valders by a final of 53-45. The Storm improved to 16-1 overall on the season. Valders came into the game at 14-2. Kewaunee’s next game is a big one as it will be at Gibraltar, the top two teams in the Packerland Conference.
