Winter storm cancels high school sporting events

The weather the last two weeks has been the toughest opponent local teams have faced this season after a winter storm canceled yet another night of high school athletics. Schools across Wisconsin were forced to cancel classes and after-school activities Thursday due to icy conditions that are expected to worsen throughout the day. Nine games are affected, including a third attempt to broadcast the Luxemburg-Casco girls' basketball team's game against conference rival Marinette. Wrestlers also lose another day of practice leading up to this weekend's WIAA Regional Tournaments held across the area including Southern Door.
