Gibraltar girls show resolve after streak-breaking loss

The Gibraltar girls basketball team saw their nine-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the still-unbeaten Kewaunee Storm Monday, but the team has quickly returned to their winning ways. In their turnaround matchup Tuesday against Oconto, the girls quickly returned to form. The Vikings defeated the Blue Devils 54-37 to sweep the season series and fend off third-place conference challenger Algoma for another day. Although the first half started off slowly, head coach Josh Kropuenske said his team was quick to shake off any leftover feelings from Monday's loss.

With Tuesday's victory, Gibraltar sits at 12-5 on the season and 10-3 in Packerland Conference play. The Vikings will head to Peshtigo on Friday before meeting a non-conference foe in Crivitz for a neutral-site game at the Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh.
