Luxemburg-Casco Spartan boys basketball fell to the Little Chute Mustangs 88-69 Monday night in a North Eastern Conference game. After a slow start to the first half, the Spartans had a four-point lead with just over a minute left until intermission when the Mustangs went on a run including a three-point shot at the buzzer by Justin Job to take a 27-26 lead.
Little Chute stayed hot in the second half opening a 21-point lead before the Spartans made a run but could not get any closer than nine points. Spartans senior Nathan Coisman led all scorers with a career-high 30 points while Ryan Robillard added 16. Job lead the way for the Mustangs with 21 points with 15 coming in the second half. The Spartans (6-8, 8-10 overall) will now travel to Freedom to take on the first place Irish Thursday night.
The next Luxemburg-Casco basketball broadcast will be Saturday as the Lady Spartans will host Marinette in a make-up game. Matt Piesler and Paul Schmitt will have the call starting at 3:15 pm with the pregame show and tip-off set for 3:30 p.m. on 96.7FM WBDK.
