Boys' basketball round-up: Southern Door's Daoust outscores Algoma

Southern Door extended its conference winning streak to 38 Monday night, but it was Kyle Daoust's 51 points that was the bigger story.  Daoust set a Packerland Conference single-game scoring record in the Eagles' 92-41win over the visiting Algoma Wolves, topping Nick LeCaptain's mark from the '15-'16 season. LeCaptain set the previous mark in a 100-88 win at Oconto. The Wolves' Carter Zimmerman scored 19 points in the loss.

Mitchell Jackson scored 19 points and Carson Talbert added 11 for the Sturgeon Bay Clippers, but it was not enough to slow the Seymour Thunder in an 80-52 road loss. Jackson scored most of his points from distance, knocking down five three's in the contest.

The Gibraltar Vikings erased an eight-point first-half deficit to beat conference rival Sevastopol 56-53. The Vikings' Evan Henry led all scorers with 21 points while Robert Pollman led the Pioneers with 14 points.

Kewaunee could not protect a two-point halftime lead in its 61-57 loss to Peshtigo. The Storm's Alexander Rohr, Tanor Bortolini, and Alex Hewett all scored in double figures. Bortolini was also impressive on the glass, grabbing 11 rebounds to earn himself a double-double for the evening.
