The Milwaukee Bucks equaled their winning total for all of last year Thursday night with a 98-97 win in Boston. At (44-14) Milwaukee owns the best record in the NBA and there are still 24 games left in the regular season.
In Boston Thursday, Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 30 points and added 13 rebounds to accompany his six assists. Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon each scored 15 points to do just enough to give the Bucks the victory.
Kyrie Irving and Al Horford combined to score 43 points to lead Boston at the Garden. Irving had a chance to win it with a floater off the left lane that rimmed out as time expired. Eric Bledsoe was defending the Celtics points guard and the contact on the shot, as is true on most buzzer beaters, was not whistled for the foul.
Milwaukee will next host the Minnesota Timberwolves at 7:30 PM Saturday night.
