Five local girls basketball teams were trying to move on in the regionals Friday night. These are the results from those games:
Gibraltar knocked off Oakfield 61-39, a game broadcasted on 105.1 WSBW. Peyton Pluff was the leader for the Vikings, as they’ll take on Hilbert Saturday night. These two teams opened the season against each other with the Wolves coming out on top. This game will also be broadcasted on 105.1 WSBW with the pregame show starting at 6:45 and tip-off at 7 PM.
Luxemburg-Casco took care of business by beating Seymour 78-42 at home in a game heard on 96.7 WBDK. Jordan Bukouricz led the way for the Spartans with 18 points. They’ll take on Southwest on Saturday night with the tip-off at 7 PM, a game that can also be heard on WBDK with the pregame show starting at 6:45.
Kewaunee continued their dominant season with a 55-32 win over Brillion. Sara Dax put up 20 points in the victory. The Storm will face off with Sheboygan Falls on Saturday night at home.
That same Sheboygan Falls team spoiled Southern Door’s chance at moving on as they beat the Eagles 50-38. Southern Door finishes their season at 14-9 overall.
Algoma lost on their home floor 46-30 against Howards Grove. Makayla Guilette did her best to keep the Wolves in the game as she finished with 15 points on the night. Algoma’s record on the season ends up at 15-9 overall.
