The road to Madison begins in Fish Creek tonight as the Gibraltar Vikings host the Lena Wildcats in the opening round of the WIAA Division 5 playoffs. Gibraltar enters the game winning three out of  their last five thanks Evan Henry and Trevor Reinhardt, who are each first and second on the team in scoring and rebounding.. Lena counters with Colbert Borchert averaging 15 points a game with six rebounds. In their last games, the Vikings gave conference champion Southern Door a little stress on their then-39 game winning streak before losing by 11 while the Wildcats had lost seven in a row before beating St. Thomas Aquinas, their co-op partners in some sports, handly in a 57-10 victory last Thursday.

Jon Bregman and Jay Kita will have the call beginning at 7 p.m. on 105.1 The  Viking, with pregame beginning at 6:45 p.m. Other local playoff action tonight includes Luxemburg-Casco facing Green Bay West at home on 96.7 WBDK, Algoma traveling to Kohler, Kewaunee hosting Two Rivers, Sevastopol visiting St. Mary’s Springs, and Sturgeon Bay staying at home against Cedar Grove-Belgium.
