Southern Door pushes past Kiel 52-42

Southern Door was tested in their WIAA Division 3 regional semi-final matchup with Kiel broadcast live on 102.1 FM WRKU Friday night. The Eagles trailed until the 14:52 mark of the second half. The #1 seed trailed by as many as ten points in the first half but recovered nicely in the second half.

Kyle Daoust passed his coach Derik Hawkey with 3:48 left to play in the first half as the second leading scorer all-time at SDHS. His 24 points were a game-high. Daoust now trails Nathan Vogel by just 27 points and could become the school's all-time leading scorer in a round two matchup Saturday night against Valders.

Derik LeCaptain tallied 14 points and Ryan Claflin added ten including two rim-rocking dunks in the contest.

Saturday's regional final will again be broadcast on 102.1 FM WRKU and streamed worldwide at DoorCountyDailyNews.com. Join Coach Derik Hawkey and Ben Rikkola for the Quietwoods RV Pre-Game show starting at 6:45 PM tomorrow night.
