Second half struggle knocks Wisconsin out

The state of Wisconsin went 0-2 in the 2019 Men's NCAA Tournament. The Wisconsin Badgers followed Marquette's path and lost a matchup as five seed against a 12. The Oregon Ducks knocked off Wisconsin 72-54 as they built their lead entirely in the second half. The game was tied at halftime but the Ducks dominated after the teams came back from the locker room. Oregon was led by Payton Pritchard who scored 19 points and had 8 assists. Wisconsin got 12 points apiece from Ethan Happ and Khalil Iverson.

The only hope for the state of Wisconsin in terms of a long tournament run comes from the Marquette women's team. They actually won their 5/12 matchup beating Rice 58-54 in overtime. The Golden Eagles rallied from down nine points with under three minutes left in regulation. Natisha Hiedeman scored 13 points to lead Marquette. They will take on number four seed Texas A&M on Sunday in Chicago.
