As Spring Training winds down for the Brewers they picked up a split in their two games on Saturday. Milwaukee traveled to the Spring Training home of the Rangers and took care of business 7-3. Burch Smith started the game on the mound and faced the minimum in three innings. Ben Gamel chipped in with a two-run homer.
The other half of the team was not as successful in their game against Kansas City. It started off well as Christian Yelich and Travis Shaw each hit two-run homers. Unfortunately, Marcus Diplan came in in relief and allowed four earned runs. The Royals ended up winning 6-4.
The Brewers have one game left in Arizona against the Diamondbacks which will take place Sunday afternoon at 2:10 PM. They then will travel to Montreal to play the Toronto Blue Jays for two exhibition games on Monday and Tuesday nights. Opening day is Thursday afternoon when the Brewers host the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:10 PM.
