Baseball preview: Neinas moving forward after no-hitter

Southern Door freshman pitcher Charlie Neinas knows there are plenty of starts ahead of him still after throwing a no-hitter earlier this month. The performance earned him Culver’s Door County Student-Athlete of the Week honors after the complete game shut-out in a 1-0 victory over Algoma on April 5th. A teammate had to tell him what was happening and his coach even had someone else warming up just in case. Neinas gives credit to his catcher that day, Devin Schinkten.

Neinas and the Southern Door Eagles hit the baseball diamond Thursday afternoon to face NEW Lutheran. Other baseball action in Door and Kewaunee Counties this afternoon include Kewaunee hosting Peshtigo, Algoma traveling to Baileys Harbor Town Park to play Sevastopol, Luxemburg-Casco heading to Freedom, and Gibraltar facing Oconto on the road.
