L-C baseball loses another heartbreaker to Freedom 2-1

Thursday's game against Freedom was a heart breaker for the Luxemburg Casco Spartans, as they lost the lead late in a 2-1 defeat. The game was tied at one with Freedom batting in the bottom of the fourth when Freedom was able to single on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides. Freedom's starter struck out nine, while Senior Captain Noah Lindsley was flawless through his first 3 frames. LC got things started in the first inning with a lead off single by Senior Captain Anthony Otradovec, who then stole and was knocked to third when Senior Captain Lance Tebon hit a deep fly to left that was mishandled by the fielder. With 2nd & 3rd and nobody out, LC was poised to have a big inning. A passed ball on the catcher allowed Otradovec to score one run for the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans. Tebon was then left stranded on third, LC would not cross the plate for the remainder of the contest. Noah Lindsley took the loss for LC, he surrendered two runs on three hits over four innings, walking one. Anthony Otradovec went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead the offense. The loss is LC's third in a row bringing them to an overall .500 record at 5-5.
Still in the think of the conference race LC travels to Oconto Falls today Friday, April 26th for a Doubleheader with first pitch slated at 3:30.
