Baseball wrap: Sturgeon Bay sweeps, Gibraltar and Southern Door splits

Doubleheaders dotted the region in local baseball action Monday.

Gibraltar baseball rebounded from a game one 5-2 defeat to claim the second contest by a 10-0 score over the Southern Door Eagles.

The Sevastopol Pioneers lost one late and couldn't recover in time for the second game as they lost to Sturgeon Bay scores of 4-3 and 14-4.

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans baseball team scored three runs in the fourth inning, but it was not enough to claw all the way back in a 6-5 loss to Little Chute.

Algoma Wolves fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-0 loss to Peshtigo.

Other than Daniel Stangel, the bats fell silent for Kewaunee as the baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to NEW Lutheran 2-1 and 5-0.

Full recaps are available at DoorKewauneeHighSchoolSports.com. Tuesday baseball action includes Luxemburg-Casco playing Little Chute at Van Lieshout Park at 4:30 p.m., Gibraltar traveling to Algoma for a 4:30 p.m. tilt, and Kewaunee heading to Walsh Field to take on Two Rivers at 6:30 p.m.
