Packers claim WR from Giants

The Green Bay Packers claimed WR Jawill Davis off waivers from the New York Giants. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Tuesday.

Davis, a 6-foot-1, 191-pound, second-year player out of Bethune-Cookman, was originally signed by the Giants as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2018. After starting the season on the Giants’ practice squad, he was promoted to the active roster on Sept. 28. Davis played in seven games and recorded four receptions for 40 yards (10.0 avg.), returned 12 punts for 89 yards (7.4 avg.) and seven kickoffs for 171 yards (24.4 avg.) before being placed on injured reserve on Dec. 29. He will wear No. 1 for the Packers.
