Algoma and Southern Door share softball conference championship

Both Southern Door and Algoma were winners on Tuesday night which means they finish with identical 14-2 records in the Packerland Conference.


Southern Door picked up a road win in Kewaunee 10-2. Kendra Dantoin, Kyle Neinas and Jackie Atkins all had two hits in the game.


Algoma knocked off Oconto 4-0 at home. Maddie Prokash was brilliant again in the circle pitching a shutout.


Elsewhere, Sevastopol swept a doubleheader at Green Bay NEW Lutheran. The Pioneers won game one 17-9 and game two 7-4. Sturgeon Bay defeated Gibraltar 10-3.


Southern Door did defeat Algoma in both their matchups this year 12-0 and 4-0. The Eagles only losses in the conference were to Oconto and Peshtigo.
