Friday's baseball action highlighted by Sturgeon Bay's dramatic victory

Five local baseball teams were in action in four games on Friday and none were as exciting as Sturgeon Bay and Peshtigo. The two top teams in the Packerland Conference squared off in Sturgeon Bay. The Clippers came away with a walk-off win in the 9th inning to take the game 4-3. Jake Schneider's sacrifice fly drove in Ryan Jacobson to win it.

Elsewhere in Packerland Conference play, Algoma got a dominant pitching performance from Zach Schmidt to win at Green Bay NEW Lutheran 8-0.

Both Kewaunee and Gibraltar played in a pitchers duel in Kewaunee. The Storm came out on top 2-0. Daniel Stangel and Nathan VanGoethem combined on a two-hit shutout. Luke Steebs was on the mound for the Vikings.

Southern Door fell at Oconto 5-3.
