It was a busy first night of Sturgeon Bay Boys Little League. The fields at Sunset Park were packed and the sound of aluminum bats and parents cheering filled the cool air. Door County Co-Op won a 4-3 game against Lawn & Landscape. Chase Haberli was the winning pitcher. Haberli struck out seven and allowed only one earned run in the victory. He exited the pitcher's mound with a 4-1 lead. Aaron Bley struck out eight in relief. Caden Pierre belted a home run, Eli Bell had a single and an RBI, Michael Wautlet singled and added two RBI and Aaron Bley singled in the game for the Co-Op. Drew Daoust had two home runs and a double and kept Lawn & Landscape in the game single-handedly.
The Kiwanis brought some hot sticks to the diamond last night. They topped the Redroom 10-3. Noah Moll, Lauden Berga and Bryce Plzak combined for the win on the hill. Lauden Berg had a two RBI double.
Nicolet Bank eased past the Lions 14-6. Braden LaRoche had the Lions only RBI. Reid Kackmarynki and J. Valley had two hits each in the win. F. DeYoung struck out five in the loss. T. Neinas had five runs batted in on three for Nicolet Bank. I. Baudhuin had three hits with two RBI. V. DeKeyser struck out six in relief. Neinas was the winning pitcher. He struck out seven.
