Gibraltar's Evan Henry and Kewaunee's Tanor Bortolini highlighted a big day from area track and field athletes on Friday in LaCrosse. Henry placed 4th in the state in the 3200M Run for Division 3 and Bortolini finished 4th in the Shot Put in Division 2. Sevastopol's Kiegen Sargent finished sixth in the Long Jump and Algoma's Max Schoening placed 7th in the Shot Put both in Division 3. Luxemburg-Casco's Griffin Geib qualified for the finals in both the 100M and 200M Dashes which will be run on Saturday. Geib was also a part of the Spartans 800M Relay Team which also qualified for the finals. He was the last leg on a team with Derek Chervenka, Bryce Ronsman and Parker Veeser.
On the girls side, Sevastopol's Olivia Stenzel placed 7th in the state in the 800M Run for Division 3. For Algoma, Bobbi Blahnik was 8th in the Discus and Jenny Farley finished 11th in the Pole Vault in Division 3. Sevastopol's Zoe Kuehn finished 9th in the Triple Jump. Abbigael Sitte qualified for the finals in the 100M Dash.
