Voyageurs Defeat WSA Winnipeg 3-0 for First Victory

Green Bay Voyageurs FC (GBVFC) earned their first win in club history, defeating WSA Winnipeg 3-0 on Saturday morning at Capital Credit Union Park. 

 

In the first half, the Voyageurs maintained offensive pressure early, ultimately building towards Nick Marnkanich netting the Voyageur’s first goal in club history in the 40th minute. Markanich was set up by a cross by Demitrius Kigeya.

 

In the 44th minute, Alex Welch scored to give the Voyageurs a two goal advantage heading into  halftime. 

 

Anthony Markanich capped the Voyageurs scoring in the 49th minute, scoring off a cross by Louis Yuill.

 

Goaltender Jamison Yoder made three saves to earn the Voyageurs first clean-sheet.

 

The Voyageurs will play their first exhibition match of the season tomorrow (June 2) taking on Minneapolis City SC at 1:00 p.m.
