No Brewers pitcher has won seven straight games to open a season until Zach Davies picked up a 5-3 win Saturday afternoon against Pittsburgh at Miller Park. Going five innings and allowing three runs, Davies also recorded three strikeouts. A good mix of base hits, doubles, and key solo home runs from Mike Moustakas and Manny Piña put the Brewers in the lead for good. Reliever Josh Hader struck out the side in the 9th inning to close out the game.
The Brewers look to end the series with a sweep at 1 p.m. with Brewers pitcher Chase Anderson facing Steven Brault for the Pirates.
