Voyageurs Draw Kaw Valley; Earn Four Points on Weekend

Kaw Valley FC (4-1-1) tallied a goal in the final moments of the match to force a 1-1 draw with Green Bay Voyageurs FC (2-1-1). With the draw, the Voyageurs earned four of a possible six points on the weekend to propel them up the Heartland Division Standings.

In the 81st minute, midfielder Alex Welch scored off an assist by Demitrius Kigeya to give the Voyageurs a 1-0 lead late in the contest. With the goal, Welch finds himself as the team leader in goals (3), riding a three-game point streak.

In the 90th minute, Manel Busquets found the back of the net to draw even with the Voyageurs. Despite building pressure in the closing seconds, Green Bay was unable to go back on top.

In goal, Jamison Yoder made four saves for GBVFC in his third consecutive league appearance.

The Voyageurs will take a break from USL League Two play next week, facing Minneapolis City SC U23 (June 12) and the WPASL All-Stars (June 15). Both matches are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. kickoffs at Capital Credit Union Park
