Booyah Pitchers Dominate in Win

Nick Riggle picked up another big performance on the hill, going five innings, allowing only one run, and grabbing his first win of the season. Riggle finished the day giving up a total of four hits, only walking one and striking out three.

“I’m proud of him.” pitching coach Mark Hernandez said after Riggles start. “We really focused on attacking hitters and getting first out and last out, and he made a lot of good adjustments.”

Out of the bullpen, Luke Wallner went two innings, giving up two hits while also striking out two Chinook batters. Chandler Ingram came on in the eighth to hold for the Booyah. Ingram finished his one inning with two strikeouts, and keeping his ERA at 0.00.

In the ninth inning, Green Bay turned to Jaret Godman for the save for the first time this year. In his lone inning, Godman shined on the mound, striking out two hitters, including grabbing the final out on a slider that tailed off the plate.

For Green Bay offensively, Jarrett Ford picked up two of the three Booyah hits, including the lone RBI on the night. Chris Williams scored from third base on a throw down to second while Jacob Buchberger was stealing, giving the Booyah what turned out to be the game winning run in the fourth.

Tomorrow for Green Bay, the Booyah turn to Jack Mahoney for his third start this year. Mahoney has a 1-0 record with a .87 ERA so far this season.

“He is just scratching the surface on what he’s able to do.” Hernandez said on Mahoney. “He’s going to reach that high ceiling at some point in his career, it’s just going to come with repetition because Jack is a special special talent.”

First pitch for tomorrow against the Mallards is set for 7:05.
