The Maplewood Mets of the Door County Baseball League are off to a rough start to the 2019 season but the sponsor of the team believes more victories are coming. They began the year 0-4 before finally beating Baileys Harbor 6-0 on Sunday. Al Buechner of the Maplewood Athletic Club is the sponsor of the team. He says the team is young this season and they’re just starting to get it together.
Nick Brauer shutout Baileys Harbor and allowed one hit. Jordan Jorgenson had 3 hits and Brauer also added two hits at the plate. Maplewood will travel to Washington Island on Sunday for their next game.
