A Sturgeon Bay angler finished fourth at the 2019 Mercury National Walleye Tournament out of 302 teams. Fritz Peterson and his fishing partner Ron Heim caught 33 pounds of fish on June 8th and 9th in Fond Du Lac. Peterson is from Sturgeon Bay and has been a professional angler for 40 years. On Sunday the 9th Peterson and Heim caught 27 pounds-worth of fish alone including one that was 7.4 pounds. Peterson was pretty excited after catching the big one.
Peterson does not have any more tournaments scheduled for this year but is already getting ready for next year.
