There were minimal fireworks in Cincinnati on July 4th as the Brewers and Reds combined for only one run. Unfortunately for the Brewers, the Reds scored the one and picked up another victory over Milwaukee. The Brewers have now been held scoreless in 23 consecutive innings and have lost three in a row.
Luis Castillo dominated the Brewers lineup only allowing one hit and one walk while striking out nine in 7 2/3 innings. Milwaukee wasted a good start from Brandon Woodruff who only allowed one run in 6 innings and he struck out 6 Reds.
The only run of the ballgame was scored in the first inning. Yasiel Puig drove home Jesse Winker with a single.
The Brewers will travel east to Pittsburgh for a three-game series with the Pirates starting on Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05.
