Four Brewers play in All Star Game loss

All four Brewers eligible in the MLB All-Star Game played on Tuesday night in Cleveland. The American League defeated the National League 4-3. Christian Yelich led off the game and went 0-2 with the strikeout. Mike Moustakas and Yasmani Grandal both came off the bench to bat and play the field. Grandal had the most success of any Brewer as he walked and scored a run in the eighth inning. Brandon Woodruff got into the game on the mound and allowed a hit, a walk and a run in 2/3 of an inning. Grandal struck out against Aroldis Chapman to end the game.

 

The American League led the game from the second inning on after Michael Brantley doubled home Alex Bregman in the second inning off of Clayton Kershaw. Charlie Blackmon homered for the NL and Joey Gallo for the AL. Shane Bieber was named MVP in front of his home crowd. He struck out the side in the fifth inning.
