Brewers open Braves series with loss

A three-run homer by Freddie Freeman was all the Atlanta Braves needed to sink the Milwaukee Brewers in the first game of their series by a final score of 4-2.

The Brewers would not answer Freeman's fourth-inning bomb until the bottom of the sixth inning when Ryan Braun hit his 13th homer of the year and Keston Hiura tripled home Mike Moustakas. Austin Riley's single a half-inning later gave the Braves an insurance run and the game's final margin. Adrian Houser took the loss for the Brewers, giving up four runs and striking out three batters in six innings of work.

The Braves and Brewers are back at it tonight at Miller Park beginning at 7:10.
