Even without Sturgeon Bay's report from Wednesday, registration sites have seen 300 20-pound-plus chinooks weighed through five days of the 37th annual Kewaunee/Door County Salmon Tournament.
At this point it seems possible that it'll take a "king" of at least 24 pounds to even crack the top 150. That's an impressive fish in its own right — and big enough to win the K/D 11 years ago, in 2008!
But this year, wow — at least 13 30-pound-plus giants officially on the board, and three others that couldn't be entered (no ticket, or not everyone on the boat with tickets), plus several upper 29s.
Mike Eder weighed this 30.62 at Accurate Marine & Tackle in Kewaunee today. Algoma had a fish just shy of 30, while Linda Jesierski had a 28.26 to Baileys Harbor and Joel Goham a 27.90 on the Island.
