Brewers lose series opener to Cubs

Zach Davies' second half struggles continued Friday afternoon in the Milwaukee Brewers' 6-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs.

The Brewers went down 1-0 after three pitches when Jason Heyward left the yard, but got it back when Ryan Braun hit a solo home run in the top of the second inning. A two-run home run by Javier Baez and RBI single by Jose Quintana gave the Cubs a 4-1 lead after four innings. Down 6-1 in the seventh inning, Manny Pina hit a groundout to drive in Ryan Braun to cap off the scoring for the Brewers.

The Brewers and Cubs battle again at Wrigley Field beginning at 1:20 p.m.
