Stenzel, Sevastopol cross country looks to make noise

The Sevastopol cross country team returns this fall with one of its best runners in tow.

Junior Olivia Stenzel ended her season last year with a top 20 finish in the WIAA Division 3 state meet, running a 5K time of 20:16 as the lone Pioneer in the race. If rosters stay the same from last year, the Pioneers could lose only one senior from last year's seventh place team in the 15 team Manitowoc Lutheran sectional.

The boys team is in a similar position, only potentially losing top runner Kyle Carlson from its sectional team that placed 15th in the 19-team field.

With the first practice still a couple weeks away, the Pioneers first meet is scheduled for August 29th at the Chief K Invitational hosted by Gibraltar.
