Sturgeon Bay football switches to 8-man

The Sturgeon Bay High School football team will look a little different when it takes the field this upcoming season and we are not talking about the new players. Starting this football season Sturgeon Bay High School will now be playing 8-man varsity football instead of the traditional 11-man. In a statement, Sturgeon Bay Athletic Director Todd Meikle says “The move will showcase the talents of our athletes on a leveled playing field to match the number of players out for football this fall”.  The school has already rescheduled games including the Homecoming matchup against Algoma on September 27th. The full 2019 Sturgeon Bay football schedule will be announced at a later date.
