Brewers cap off sweep of Pirates

Rookie Keston Hiura had a career day to help the Milwaukee Brewers sweep the Pittsburgh Pirates thanks to an 8-3 victory Wednesday night.

Hiura's first and fifth inning home runs helped give the Brewers three of its eight runs on the evening. Ben Gamel had an RBI sac fly in the second inning while base hits by Eric Thames and Lorenzo Cain helped drive in the other runs. Drew Pomeranz made his first appearance as a Brewer, giving up just one run on one hit in three innings of work. Junior Guerra picked up the win in relief.

Gio Gonzalez will take the hill for the Brewers when they return home to Miller Park Friday at 7:10 p.m. to begin a three-game set with the Texas Rangers.
