While the football practice season is already a week in, area girls athletic teams get to begin their pursuits for conference and state titles this week.

Monday marks the first day girls' golf teams can hit the links before their first meets can start on Thursday. Tuesday marks the first day girls tennis and girls swimming and diving can begin practicing. Tennis players can get their first competitive action beginning on Saturday while swimmers and divers have to wait until next Wednesday for their first meets of the season, according to the WIAA.
