Sturgeon Bay Boys' Soccer Preview

The start of the boys’ high school soccer season is almost upon us and the Sturgeon Bay Clippers are looking to improve on last season after falling just short of their goal. The Clippers are coming off a 17-8 (10-0) regular season record and state semi-finals appearance where they were knocked out by University School. During the offseason, upperclassmen held captains’ practices so players were able to stay in shape and keep their foot on the ball. Having their hardest non-conference schedule ever last year, the Clippers are looking to really improve in that category since they will be playing a lot of the same teams. Even though the team struggled in non-conference play last season Head Coach Todd Maas says it actually helped them in the long run.

Key players returning to the team include: Eli Dietzel, Addison Benzinger, Owen Stevenson, C.J. Fairchild and Dylan Burks. The Clippers regular season begins on August 29th in a matchup against Fox Valley Lutheran.
