The Southern Door School District is moving forward with the creation of a school-sponsored trapshooting team.  That comes after student demand for a sanctioned team that would be sponsored and advised by the Gardner Rifle Club.  Some Southern Door students were already club members.    Superintendent Patricia Vickman says a trap shooting team would sport the school's mascot and colors against teams from other Wisconsin Schools.

The trapshooting team would be open to boys and girls from the middle and high schools. Team members or the Gardner Rifle Club would be responsible for providing firearms for the competition.  Sturgeon Bay, Denmark, Luxemburg Casco, and Washington Island are mong the existing school trap shooting teams in our area.
