Kewaunee Storm face stern test in opener

Kewaunee rattled off 11 straight wins to open 2018 and, this year, they return a bevy of skill players including running back Owen Kudick and QB Ryan Carmichael. Coach Randy Charles is in a pretty good position but nerves exist before every season opener. The Storm open up at home against Kiel :: KEEL::, a 2018 playoff team that returns a lot out of the powerful Eastern Wisconsin Conference. Kiel's defensive ends are the strength of the unit going up against an untested Kewaunee offensive line. That matchup is Charles' greatest area of concern:

Kiel favors the run offensively. Combining a clock-eating rushing offense with a great defense could threaten to limit the opportunities for Carmichael and Kudick to work their magic. Kewaunee is a playoff-tested program with a rich tradition. Pedigree says they'll be ready. The top-notch non-conference matchup kicks off Friday night.
