Sevastopol drops opening night game to Suring on 104.1 WRLU

Sevastopol dropped their opening game of the season 40-22 in Suring on Saturday night. The game was aired live on 104.1 WRLU and streamed at DoorCountyDailyNews.com. The star of the game was Suring senior running back Logan Stuart. Suring consistently handed the ball off to Stuart and he made the most of it carrying the Eagles offense to a victory.

The Eagles got the scoring going in the first quarter with a long touchdown drive on the opening possession. After the teams traded punts, Sevastopol tied the game with a touchdown of their own. The Pioneers Spencer Evenson then picked off a pass and brought it all the way to the Eagles five yard line. From there, Sevastopol took the lead on a fourth down touchdown pass to Logan Beyer. Suring would regain the lead before the half and led at intermission 20-14.

The Eagles would never surrender the lead in the second half. Suring scored a touchdown first in the second half which the Pioneers answered with a 63 yard touchdown pass from Jack de Young to Spencer Evenson. Sevastopol couldn't muster much offense the rest of the game and Suring put the game away with two more touchdowns in the second half.

Sevastopol will play their home opener on Thursday night against Algoma. The game will be broadcast live on 104.1 WRLU and streamed at DoorCountyDailyNews.com. Pregame show begins at 6:30 PM and kickoff at 7.
