Brewers win third straight Saturday

Milwaukee blanked Arizona to pull within two games of the Chicago Cubs for the second NL Wild Card spot on Saturday night. Five pitchers combined for a four-hitter with Chase Anderson picking up his sixth win of the season.

First baseman Eric Thames and rookie Trent Grisham went deep in the fourth, both solo shots, to break a scoreless tie. The homers led off the inning in back-to-back fashion. It was Thames' 19th dinger of 2019, Grisham's fourth.

The Brew Crew added two more in the seventh as insurance. Milwaukee wraps up the weekend series with Arizona today at 1:10 before hosting a pivotal three-game set against St. Louis starting tomorrow. The Cards are 3.5 games ahead of Milwaukee leading the NL Central.
