Kiel keeps Kewaunee off-balance in opener

Going into Week One, Kewaunee Storm head coach Randy Charles was concerned about the matchup in the trenches. It turns out, Kewaunee was done in by special teams and big plays. The Storm fell 49-21.

Kiel boasted a strong defense in 2018 and is anchored by two defensive ends who are set for a special year in 2019. Kewaunee's 21-point first half had to have been a best-case scenario for the Storm, and yet, they still trailed after 24 minutes.

The Raiders hit on a 67-yard pass play, returned a fumble, and a kickoff for their first three scores en route to 28 points of their own by the half. Three more touchdowns of over 20 yards in the third quarter gave Kiel a decisive victory to open 2019.

Kewaunee gets Manawa in Week Two. They won a rather different affair Friday night, beating Markesan 7-0.
