Gibraltar volleyball fits in scrimmage

The Gibraltar volleyball team is putting in some extra work ahead of the first regular-season action this week.

The Vikings are heading to Wausaukee this afternoon for a series of scrimmages against Bonduel, Elcho, Gibraltar, Green Bay West, Menominee,  and NEWCHAA (Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschoolers Athletic Associaton). First serves are expected to start at 1 p.m.

Local teams will begin playing for keeps tomorrow when Algoma heads to Oconto for an invitational, Kewaunee travels to Stevens Point, and Sturgeon Bay plays at Reedsville. Southern Door waits until Thursday to play at the Green Bay East Invitational as does Sevastopol with a tournament in Wisconsin Dells. Luxemburg-Casco will play a two-day tournament in Sun Prairie Thursday and Friday. The first real action for Gibraltar is September 5th.
