A key week for the Milwaukee Brewers got off to a bad start Monday night with a 12-2 loss the National League Central Division-leading St. Louis Cardinals.
A six-run second inning ultimately doomed the Brewers in this game, which was spurred by multi-RBI doubles by Marcell Ozuna and Harrison Bader. Cory Spangenberg's RBI single got the Brewers on the board in the bottom of second to make it 8-1 Cardinals, but gave it right back when Yadier Molina went yard in the fourth inning. Lorenzo Cain drove in the Brewers second run on a fourth inning double only to have the Cardinals tack on a pair of runs in each the sixth and eighth innings.
The two teams are back in action in Milwaukee Tuesday night at 6:40 p.m.
