Brewers lose rain delayed game at Miller Park

A rain delay is one of the last things you expect when you go to a game at Miller Park but that's what happened Tuesday night against the Cardinals. With two outs in the top of the seventh and the Cardinals batting, rain started pouring through the open roof. The game was delayed for nine minutes while the retractable roof closed. St. Louis would go on to win the game 6-3 behind two home runs from Yadier Molina.

The Brewers got the first run of the game in the 2nd inning with Orlando Arcia driving in Keston Hiura with an RBI single. Molina's two homers gave the Cardinals a 3-1 lead. Yasmani Grandal cut the Cardinals' lead to 4-3 with a two-run home run in the 8th, but that was all the Brewers could do offensively. St. Louis added two insurance runs in the ninth to secure the victory.

Milwaukee has dropped the first two games of the series to the Cardinals and have lost three in a row overall. The Brewers are now 6.5 games behind the Cards for first place in the NL Central and 3 games behind the Cubs for the second Wild Card spot. The Cubs also won Tuesday.

The Brewers and Cardinals will wrap their series up Wednesday with a 1:10 PM first pitch.
