Brewers avoid sweep

The Milwaukee Brewers avoided a three game sweep by the St. Louis Cardinals with a 4-1 victory on Wednesday. Jordan Lyles took the mound for the Crew and went 5 1/3 strong innings, only allowing 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 9. Junior Guerra picked up his 17th hold and Josh Hader came in for 2 innings to get his 26th save on the season. Brewer second baseman Keston Hiura went 2 for 4 on the day with a solo homerun and 3 RBI's total. The Brewers improved their record to 68-65 on the season and sit 5.5GB of the Cardinals for the lead in the NL Central and 3GB of the Cubs for the second Wildcard spot. Milwaukee will have Thursday off as they travel down to the windy city to begin a 3 game series on Friday against the Cubs. First pitch is scheduled for 1:20 P.M.
