SBHS Cross Country ready for first test

Both the girls and guys cross-country teams at Sturgeon Bay High School are looking for good starts to their 2019 season. The season kicks off with the Chief Kahquados Invitational at Gibraltar High School on August 29th. Last year, the girls team finished 4th at the meet trailing Freedom, Mauston and Kewaunee respectively. Head Coach Leanne Pinkert says this first meet will be a good test as the team will run the same course during the conference meet.

Returning runners for the girl’s team include Miranda Olson, Ashley Alberts and Nalani Bicoy. The boy’s team lost their only upper classman in Izaak Polecheck but have a solid sophomore class led by twin brothers Jace and Bennet Johnson.
