Algoma crushes Sevastopol on 104.1 WRLU

Sevastopol's offense couldn't get much going in their 48-6 loss to Algoma on Thursday night at home. Through the first three quarters, the Pioneers could only manage one first down and that came late in the first half. It was a slow start for both offenses as neither team gained a first down on each of their first two drives.

Algoma's ground game got going after that mainly from running back Oliver Robertson. Brett Benesh also had a long touchdown run in the game. The Wolves eventually built a 34-0 lead at halftime. Algoma picked up a quick touchdown on the first possession of the second half and then the game went to a running clock the rest of the way.  Robertson had to be helped off the field in the second half after suffering an apparent leg injury.

Triston Beauchamp would get Sevastopol on the board in the fourth quarter when he took a screen pass into the endzone.

Sevastopol will take on Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Oneida next Friday night in a game that can also be heard on 104.1 WRLU and streamed at DoorKewauneeHighSchoolSports.com. The pregame show will begin at 6:30 PM and kickoff at 7 from Green Bay.
