Brewers' woes continue

The Milwaukee Brewers were defeated by the Chicago Cubs 7-1 in the opening game of their three-game series. The Cubs got on the board right away with a 2-run HR by Nick Castellanos in the first inning. Chicago then added another 3 runs in the 2nd inning after an RBI double by Jose Quintana and another 2-run HR by Castellanos. The Cubs would pack on another run in the 7th inning and again in the 8th. The only Brewers’ run came off an RBI single by Manny Pina in the 8th inning. The Brewers have now lost 4 of their last 5 games and their record sits at 68-66; they are 6GB of the St. Louis Cardinals for the lead in the NL Central and 5GB of the Cubs for the second Wild Card spot. The Brewers will continue their series against the Cubs on Saturday; first pitch is scheduled for 1:20 PM.
