Packers receiver Equanimeous St. Brown out for season

Equanimeous St. Brown has been bitten by the sophomore slump due to injury. The second-year Packers receiver was placed on Injured Reserve Saturday as the Green and Gold finalized their 53-man roster for the 2019-2020 season. St. Brown suffered a high ankle sprain in the team’s third preseason game in Winnipeg against the Oakland Raiders. It was thought he would miss half the season and rumors were swirling it could be less than that. Saturday’s IR designation surprised most. NFL rules state that if a player is on the 53-man roster to start the season then moved to Injured Reserve, he can be brought back off it when the injury has healed. When a player is put on IR to start the year he must stay on it for the duration of the season.
